Who I Am

About Me

Vicky Millar - 2BalanceBefore becoming a coach in 2008, I enjoyed 15 years working as an HR professional in large blue chip companies including IBM, PepsiCo and Microsoft.  During this time I worked with many different individuals, in all parts of the organisation, on their career direction and how to effectively manage and take control of their career development. My experience, from both the perspective of the organisation and also the employee, allows me now to fully support individuals in my own coaching business.

My passion was, and will always be, a simple desire to help people make the most of their strengths and realise their full potential. It is this passion that I’ve now channelled into working with people to help them have fulfilling and balanced careers.

In 2007, I trained with leading coach training provider, CoachInc.com, which was a fulfilling experience that heightened my coaching skills, while reinforcing my belief in the nature and purpose of good coaching.  I’ve since become an accredited coach through the International Coach Federation and am I committed to their standards of conduct and ethics.

My training led me to set up my own coaching business which allows me to do what I love, continue to learn and grow, and spend more time with my 2 children and husband.

My coaching style is warm, empathetic and personable.  As part of this, I love to positively challenge you and create an open, trusting, collaborative partnership based on a mix of being practical and intuitive. I enjoy supporting people with transitions in their life, be that a new career or job, growth in their current role, returning from maternity leave or looking at other areas of their life.

Since starting my business, I’ve coached many people in companies such as Microsoft, Vodafone, Glaxo Smith-Kline, Bank of England, Freshfields and UBS, as well as a variety of small businesses too.
